Goal Trophy

- This is the trophy that will be awarded for conquering this challenge.

100 miles may seem like a daunting distance, but spread out over 30 days, members participating in the Run 100 Miles in 30 Days Challenge need to run only about 3.3 miles per day to meet the goal.

This flexible goal allows MapMyRun.com members to compete against other participants by running 100 miles in any 30-day period. The 30 days must be consecutive, but members need not run every day.  Members can measure their success against other members. and MapMyRun.com provides participating members with the site’s tools, including run mapping with elevation and distance, street and topographical map viewing, and workout logging.

MapMyRun.com proposes the following simple schedule for success at running 100 miles in 30 days:

Week #SunMonTueWedThuFriSatTotal

224535Rest523
324635Rest626

Started this today and went out for a 5 miler, so I'm ahead of the game already. I'll probably finish early, but I just wanted something small to get into a regular running routine again. Wanting to do a half marathon next year. This should get me started. Looking forward to it.

Seeing this challenge about three weeks ago, I used it as the capstone of my training for the Army 10-miler. It served as a great motivational tool to keep me focused on my goal of finishing 10 miles in 90 minutes or less.
I did meet my goal, and after today's workout I am at 72 miles. I LOVE this challenge!

Results of 4Oct09 Army 10:
Race Finish: 1:29:29
Pace: 8:56/mile
Goal: 9:00/mile

Next race - the Virginia Beach Shamrock 1/2 Marathon.

Just finished my challenge!!! For those having trouble with the updates on your progress, you have two options:
1. Wait until the next day. The miles usually update within a day.
2. If you want to see it updated immediately, go to view workout. On the left choose to edit, then save and choose update now. This will update your progress immediately.
Good Luck!

Today was my last day and I just finished this challenge about an hour ago. My "victory lap" so to speak was a 7-mile run during the late evening. I was so happy to finished - I even let out a big "YEAHHHH!" when I turned on the corner towards my house.
I will always look back at this moment in my life with a smile and the warm memories of this summer. Setting limits, pushing limits, facing reality and defying reality. Words cannot even describe how happy I was.

snow and freezing rain are slowing me down, 5 days in and only at 12% and a winter storm on the way. I guess I am running in snow shoes this weekend :)

What a great challenge to keep on track during the holidays!!! I mentally struggled to get my head around a 100 miles in 30 days. Doesnt sound like alot, but I normally do 15 miles a week and the leap to 25 was motivating. Honestly, my legs were tired after two weeks, but the Leaderboard provided an added incentive to keep going. I have three more days left and plan to continue my pace until the end. What's next?

I'm 35% of the way through, right now, and have 19 days remaining. Hoping that I can shed a few pounds and see some results by mile 100, or so.

Participating in the challenge kept me focused on a specific goal. There were days when I thought I might skip a run or not go as far. But I knew I would get an email in the morning reminding me of exactly where I stood. I enjoyed the emails showing progress much more so I kept at it! I finished Dec. at 102 miles.

Really excited about taking this challenge up for Jan! Only issue so far is I'm using metric, but it's displaying as only 100km to achieve on my account. Still aiming for the equivalent of around 162km at this end tho :)

Today I began this challenge. I had been training for my first marathon in Los Angeles Feb 16th but I was nursing an injury and the date was changed to May so I have not been as motivated to keep running. Im hoping this will help keep me motivated. I have decided to run San Diego instead because the avg temp in LA in May is 85 degrees.

To all those participants currently completing the challenge, or contemplating participating, it's worth the experience. Be you a beginner or intermediate runner. It gives one a sense of achievement + increased level of well-being! Being one who has run over a long period of time, I found myself rebelling against training plans for longer distances. However, since having completed one Asics Challenge I've discovered that with a variety of routes I was not getting bored + was actually pushing mysel

Just left a comment on the discussion forum. With family responsibities it is tough to get all the time in I really want to put in(grandkids now in basketball, etc), but now with winter officially kicking us, outdoor is VERY tough. The roads are now almost shot and the trails are gone. My shoe trax are now VERY important but distance will now be almost impossible.
I will be hanging in there but other months are now my only chance.....
Take care all.

All I have to say is that I am at 25% right now and I feel great... I almost gave up yesterday... I was supposed to run 4 miles and I left the gym at 2... after taking a shower and laying in bed I just thought to myself... what am I doing? I really like logging in my miles and seeing the meter go up and show my percent completed... I got up and called the gym to see what time they closed and I went back and did another 2 1/2... and I slept so good last night... I got 3 today and I am really looking forward

As a relatively new runner, I am excited that I took this challenge and finished. As the New England weather started turning cold, this challenge got me out the door and running on days that I could have made a thousand excuses. Sometimes the challenge was grueling, but as I ran the last 100 yards of my last day, I wasn't just completing a 4.5mile run, I was finishing the equivalent of almost 4 marathons in a month. Thanks for the challenge ASICS and MapMyRun!

Wow. just finished last day, and last mile of the 100 mile challenge. I timed it wrong and had to really pack in the miles these last few days (25 or so miles in the last 4 days.)
This one has really made me push myself, and I am very happy that I followed through on it. My pace slowed towards the end, so I believe I'll rest for a few days, and then get some more!
This sight has made me realize that i am capable of perhaps running a marathon one day. Once the 100 miles in a month starts coming
