This is roughly the "5k" loop. In actual fact it is very close to 5.3k. The course primarily follows the "'Round the Lake" trail but leaves the trail very briefly in a few sections to avoid obstacles. The course has small rolling hills and the trail is groomed and non-technical. There is an aid station around the 2k mark, just after crossing the dam.
