Description of this Run

This is a beautiful scenic run along the famous Newport Cliff Walk from start to finish. It commences on Memorial Boulevard approximately 1 mile before the Cliff Walk entrance at Easton's Beach. This is the best running direction along the Newport Cliff Walk in Rhode Island due to the way the weather has worn away the rocks along the route - this is the safe direction particularly when fatigued. It is a fairly flat run for most of the course with only a few small gradual inclines and declines. It requires a certain amount of rock hopping and running over pebble beaches and rocky outcrops after the Ruggles Avenue exit for about 2 miles until the end of the Cliff Walk at Baileys Beach. The run from Bailyes Beach up Bellevue Avenue is easy and scenic - it goes past many of the Newport Mansions and when there are too many pedestrians on the sidewalk, it's fairly safe to run on the road.
