Starting at Big Tree Park and running towards 17-92, you need to make sure you are doing this in daylight with time to burn. Once 6 comes around, the trail gets pretty dark with all of the trees you are beneath and you are blocked from the road. Often bats will be present as sun sets and after a rain, part of the trail may be a little under water. Crossing over 17-92 on the bridge makes for a goood climb and descent. Again, make sure you are in good lighting and possibly with a partner as there have been several sightings of hobo-camps and proof of people drinking/"drugging". Over 419, it turns into a completely secluded path in which the aforementioned is a necessity near sundown. This trail is a very good one, and is generally safe, provided you know what you are doing and alotting the time to do it in.
