Run Description
The 2008 half marathon course offers several new features. Due to the extensive construction at the Ambassador Bridge and surroundings (Gateway Project), we will use Rosa Parks to W. Fort St as the route to the bridge (Mile 1 to 3). We cannot use Bagley through Mexicantown this year. The route through the temporary toll plaza is tight and twisting, so we ask for your patience. This new route to the bridge is somewhat shorter,so to make up the distance, we added distance in Corktown (Mile 10 to 12)along the residential steets of Leverette St and Labrosse St. Other than that, the course is the same... featuring the route over the Ambassador bridge into Windsor, Ontario, Canada, along the waterfront in Canada, through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (our Underwater Mile), around Corktown and back to Michigan Ave for the bell lap into downtown for a Campus Martius Park finish on Woodward Ave. The mile markers shown here, based on GPS from satellite photos, may vary slightly from the USATF certification markers on the ground.
