Have you ever wondered about biking to work? If you have ever sat in traffic gritting your teeth as the highway seems gummed up like those little chewy gummy bears sitting on pavement during a hot day then wondered if biking would sereously be faster. Well the truth is biking can be faster, keep in mind your fitness level and how cold it is outside. During the summer months I ride to work, bike events, the store and enjoy the best of colorado scenery. But these trails are a best kept secret, hardly anyone knows about them. The areas along the river arent noticed by cars and are underappreciated for their extraordinary useability. The vast network of bike trails can take you literally anywhere, it works much like a highway and after you exit onto residential roads you may never want to bike in traffic again! The Cherry creek trail goes under all the nasy traffic and through peaceful parks from the heart of denver all the way to Aurora and even south to Parker often out of view from traffic and in the safety of a wide smooth sidewalk. Up north it connects at Confluence park to join with the platte river trail which rides as far as Brighton. Take the Clear Creek trail west from the Platte river trail and ride into golden for a very nice secret passageway to the sacred mountains and places like Deer Creek for some intense climbing. The South Platte river trail also links at confluence park and will take you right past Invesco and Elitch Gardens! You can bike to your favorite Football game! no finding parking! or go into the Amazing elitch gardens and enjoy a great day of fun with family and friends. After it passes these amazing areas it heads south and joins at chatfield. Want to get back to Cherry Creek State Park? no problem, take the trail that follows C-470 east and merge with the Cherry Creek trail in Parker. Now ride it north and bingo youre at the south end of the park. That is the Triangular Key to theCity of Denver. Ride for Fun, Ride for work,Ridewith Friends. Just get out there and enjoy this wonderful way to get around.
