*** THIS MAP IS APPROXIMATE. OAT Run half marathon is just under 13 miles. This one-way course starts with a half-mile run uphill on a gravel road, then runners turn onto a dirt single-track trail for the remainder of the race. The singletrack heads downhill for a while. The course then becomes rolling, finishing with an almost three-mile downhill cruise. Well, except for that short (but steep) hill at the finish line! Runners will pass through a variety of forest ages on the beautifully constructed, excellently-maintained trail. If the weather cooperates, runners will get a view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island, and a little further along, a fantastic view up the Elwha valley from the “living room” at approximately mile 9.5.
